Beef Shanks are a bone-in meat that are best when cooked low and slow, such as braised or in the crockpot, as part of a tender and hearty meal. They can also be quickly seared on the stove on both sides, and then covered and cooked on low until desired finish is achieved (about 5-8 minutes). Thus, beef shanks are a very versatile cut, and since they come from an active muscle, they provide a ton of flavor regardless of how they’re prepared!
